License to alter
As a Landlord your primary concern is safeguarding your investment. Tenants invariably
need to alter the property to suit their specific business needs, from installing partitioning
and office space to structural alterations for process machinery.
These changes are dealt with via a Licence to Alter – a legal document typically appending
the lease, giving the Tenant permission to carry out the alterations.
England and Co. as part of this process can review the Tenant’s proposals and provide a
detailed understanding of what these proposals entail. We advise the Landlord of their
suitability, their effect on the greater building and ensure that statutory requirements are
met such as applying for planning and building control permission.
Once the works are on site, we can offer a monitoring service to ensure that the works
being carried out in accordance with the Licence for Alterations, to a good standard, and in-
line with health and safety requirements.
